A continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine is the most commonly used Sleep Apnea Device. It requires you to wear a mask and blows air through a tube into the airways. The goal is to keep the airways open when you are asleep.
If we find that CPAP is not tolerable or effective for a patient, we may suggest the expiratory positive airway pressure device. It is placed over the nostrils. Another option is the adaptive servo-ventilation that maintains normal breathing through the use of pressure.
